Little Brother
Small Bar
| Situated at the northern corner of Mount Hawthorn, Little Brother emerged from owner Brett's vision to build something that served the neighbourhood—unpretentious, relaxed, and welcoming.
Twenty-five years of experience in the wholefoods retail industry helped shape the venue, bringing together local suppliers, makers, and long-standing relationships. The name itself serves as a natural progression and a nod to this previous business. Designed by Proekt Interiors, the physical environment acted as the foundation to build from. Amalgamating two venues into one, the interior leans into the building's original imperfections to create a warm, textured, yet minimal space. The visual identity follows suit, incorporating sharp design, confident framing, and geometric grotesque type work, alongside patterns representative of those structural imperfections and unvarnished charm. The final implementation ranged from physical menus and signage to the website and core identity. The result balances minimalism with character—considered enough to feel current, yet casual enough to be a true neighbourhood small bar. CREDITS: |
